On 12 May 2023, Professor Kenji Kabashima of the Graduate School of Medicine received this year's Research Achievement Award in Autoimmune and Inflammatory Skin Disorders, conferred by the American Skin Association to researchers who have achieved outstanding results in fields related to these conditions.
Professor Kabashima's efforts have included investigating the "underlying mechanisms of inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and psoriasis, as well as exploring 3D visualization of the skin using two-photon microscopy and drug development".
The award ceremony took place at the 2023 meeting of the International Societies for Investigative Dermatology (ISID), held from 10 to 13 May in Tokyo.
