2016 special lectures by professional engineers commence at the Graduate School of Agriculture (17 May 2016)

During each spring semester, Kyoto University's Graduate School of Agriculture (GSA) hosts a series of weekly guest lectures by engineers from Japan's leading machinery companies. Topics covered include innovative product concepts and issues facing the agricultural industry, such as those related to life, food, and environmental sciences.

The 2016 series commenced on 17 May with a lecture by an engineer from a world-leading manufacturer of food weighing and packaging equipment. After a product demonstration, some of the students got to try their hands on the machine and experience its weighing speed and accuracy.

GSA's spring semester lecture series is organized as part of the Kyoto University Transdisciplinary Graduate Program and is given entirely in English, making it highly popular with both international and Japanese students, not only from GSA but also from other KU graduate schools.
