Kyoto University invites applications to join the 2015 Environmental Report Stakeholder Committee (24 June 2015)

Kyoto University is now compiling its Environmental Report for 2015. In order to have the report reflect the views of as wide a range of KU stakeholders as possible, including students and residents of communities surrounding the university's campuses, applications are now being accepted from those interested in becoming members of the Stakeholder Committee.

Anyone willing to express opinions on how the university should take action to attract attention to environmental issues on campus, as well as regarding garnering public understanding for these efforts, is welcome to apply.

1. Committee member roles

Members of the Committee are to be expected to express their views on KU's commitment to environmental challenges from the perspective of a stakeholder.

2. Eligibility requirements

Those who have knowledge and interest in environmental issues, and can attend a meeting (held in Japanese) from 16:00 on Monday 17 August 2015.

3. Anticipated number of committee members

Around 10

4. How to apply

Please prepare a statement including the reason you are interested in joining the committee, your opinions or proposals related to environmental issues, along with the following information, either by email, fax, or post to the address below. There is no defined format. Your personal information will be kept in strictest confidence, and only be used for the purpose of administering the committee.

6. Selection

The 2015 Kyoto University Environmental Report Working Group will screen applications, making selections based on reasons for participation, the opinions presented, a balance among the membership, and other considerations. Applicants will be notified of the results.

7. Other remarks

Transportation expenses will be provided to those not affiliated with the University, but no honorarium will be paid.
