The 2018-2019 Degree Conferment Ceremony was held 25 March at Miyako Messe (Kyoto International Exhibition Hall) with executive vice-presidents, deans, and other faculty and staff, as well as Professor Emeritus Carl B Becker, in attendance.
A total of 2,203 students received master's degrees, 148 professional master's degrees, 129 juris doctor degrees, and 585 doctoral degrees (540 by coursework and 45 by thesis, awarded on 26 November 2018, 23 January 2019, and 25 March 2019).
The class of 2018 also included 28 who completed Programs for Leading Graduate Schools, inaugurated in 2012.
In the ceremony, President Yamagiwa administered the degree certificates and delivered a congratulatory address.
