The Division of Graduate Studies at Kyoto University is pleased to announce that applications for the KU-STAR (Kyoto University Short-Term Academic Research) Program for Australia 2027 are now open.
KU-STAR Program aims to open the door to research opportunities for undergraduate and master's students from a given country who have a strong desire to pursue a doctoral program at Kyoto University.
KU-STAR Program for Australia 2027 offers undergraduate and master's students at a college or university in Australia a unique opportunity to gain hands-on research experience at Kyoto University from 7 January to 18 February 2027. Participants will work under the guidance of leading faculty members, immerse themselves in a new academic and cultural environment, and build valuable skills and connections.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Have a strong desire to pursue a doctoral program at Kyoto University.
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or master's program at a college or university in Australia. Undergraduate students must have completed at least four semesters prior to the KU-STAR Program.
- Not be scheduled to graduate before the start of the KU-STAR Program and remain enrolled in their undergraduate or master's program for at least one semester or quarter after returning to Australia following the end of the KU-STAR Program.
- Have a good academic record.
- Meet the requirements of the chosen laboratory, as specified in the laboratory list (available via the link below).

Kyoto University will provide accommodation for all participants for the program period.
