On Friday 26 June 2026, the International Education and Student Mobility Division, in collaboration with the International Academic Research and Resource Center for Language Education (iARRC) of the Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS), hosted this semester's "Partner Universities Square" in the lobby of the ILAS Building.
Held each semester during lunchtime, the event offers a valuable opportunity for incoming international students to promote their home institutions and countries while fostering KyotoU students' interest in studying abroad.
The 26 June event attracted approximately 120 participants and featured 12 presentations -- ten by incoming exchange students and two by Amgen Scholars Program participants. The presenters each delivered a two-minute flash talk, effectively using creative and original slides to offer insights into student life and highlight the distinctive features of their home universities from a student's perspective.
The talks were followed by an informal networking session, where KyotoU students eagerly gathered around the speakers to ask individual questions. The vibrant interactions and networking continued even after the formal program had concluded.
The presentation and networking sessions introduced attendees to not only the partner universities but also to the appeal of the presenters' home countries and regions, further encouraging attendees to pursue study-abroad opportunities.
Universities featured at the event: University of Hamburg (Germany), École Normale Supérieure de Paris (France), Seoul National University (Republic of Korea), University of Birmingham (United Kingdom), University of Toronto (Canada), University of Barcelona (Spain), Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM, Mexico), Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Italy), Wageningen University (Netherlands), University of Auckland (New Zealand), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), and Universitas Indonesia (Indonesia)
