One international student appointed as Kyoto Prefecture Honorary Friendship Ambassador for the 2026 academic year

An international student, Ms Kim Minseo (3rd year, Faculty of Letters), has been appointed as an Honorary Friendship Ambassador of Kyoto prefecture for the 2026 academic year. The appointment ceremony was held on Friday 19 June at Kyoto Prefectural Hall during the Kyoto Prefectural Foundation Day Commemorative Ceremony.

Kyoto Prefecture Honorary Friendship Ambassadors are appointed each year from among international students studying in the prefecture who are eager to serve as a bridge between Kyoto and other parts of the world.

Ms Kim was among the 10 ambassadors appointed this academic year. She and the other appointees are expected to play an active role in promoting the internationalization of Kyoto prefecture through a variety of activities, including those hosted by municipalities as well as elementary and junior high schools, and programs run by the prefectural government with its friendship regions.
