Three researchers from the Graduate School of Agriculture, along with their collaborators, have received the 2025 Ig Nobel Prize in Biology for their "experiments to learn whether cows painted with zebra-like striping can avoid being bitten by flies".

The three researchers were former student Tomoki Kojima (master’s degree 2010) -- who was with the Aichi Agricultural Research Center at the time of the experiments and is now with the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) -- Associate Professor Kazato Oishi, and Professor Emeritus Hiroyuki Hirooka.

The award ceremony took place at Boston University in the United States on 18 September 2025 local time.
