The Graduate School of Management (GSM) received an 'EQUIS Award' from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) at the foundation's 2023 conference, held in Lyon, France, from 11 to 13 June. EFMD is a Brussels, Belgium-based international accreditation body for higher-education institutions in management and business administration. EQUIS, which stands for the 'EFMD Quality Improvement System', is an international school accreditation program focused on management and business administration.

GSM obtained its EQUIS accreditation on 3 May 2023 following a rigorous review process involving the evaluation of a self-assessment report and interviews, with final approval by the EQUIS Accreditation Board. This made KyotoU Japan's first National University Corporation with an EQUIS-accredited graduate school.

GSM, having thus been accredited, received further recognition from EFMD in the form of the EQUIS Award for the quality of its research and education, conducted in a wide range of fields utilizing its strong links with the world of business.
