Class of 1963 Graduates from the Faculty of Economics Hold Alumni Meeting Commemorating Their 50th Graduation Anniversary (May 23, 2013)

This year at the Clock Tower Centennial Hall, members of the Faculty of Economics' Class of 1963 held an alumni meeting to commemorate their fiftieth graduation anniversary. A total of eighty-five graduates gathered at the meeting, held every year for the class that graduated fifty years ago.

As photographs from their graduation album were shown on a large screen, melodies of songs, such as Biwako Shuko no Uta, were played as background music, which brought back old memories.

At the opening of the event, Dean Kazuhiro Ueta from the Faculty of Economics said in his speech, "For now, the Faulty of Economics' biggest agenda is to celebrate its centenary coming in six years and to aim to be a faculty of the highest caliber, surpassing all others in the world."

As it was the first reunion in fifty years attended by many of the participants, they had endless topics to talk about. The meeting, which also featured cheers and performances by Kyoto University's Cheering Party, ended on a lively note after all participants sang a cheering song, Shinsei no Ibuki, and the university song.
