In the cooperation with Kyoto University 'Sumo' Club, we held 'Experiencing Japan National Sports - 'KI-ZU-NA's 'Sumo' Experience -' as 'KI-ZU-NA' July's event. The event took place at the Kyoto University 'Sumo' Club 'Sumo' ring.
First, participants learned how to wear 'mawashi' (the belt that sumo wrestlers wear) and prepared for the practice. In the event, participants practiced 'shiko' and 'mukade' or 'centipede' (an exercise to strengthen the legs and waist), 'suriashi' (an exercise to train the posture of sumo), and 'oshi' (a training to increase the horse power of the wrestler). Finally, participants were able to do a match practice. Through this event, all participants deepened their knowledge about 'Sumo' and enlarged their circle of friends.
