In September 2008, MANGA Kyoto University was published in cooperation between students and staff of Kyoto University (KU) and Kyoto Seika University. Designed to enable junior high school and high school students to easily understand KU's research accomplishments, this manga depicts KU's education, research, medical efforts, student activities, historical events and renowned researchers. In response to a highly favorable reception both within and outside KU, it was decided to publish the manga not only in Japanese but also in other languages to attract more attention and interest from overseas students to KU.
Now, MANGA Kyoto University in English, Chinese and Korean are available, again in cooperation with Kyoto Seika University. These foreign language versions will be distributed to KU's overseas partner institutions, diplomatic establishments overseas, and KU's offices overseas, to disseminate KU's research accomplishments more extensively to the world.
