International Symposium on Hydrology, Hydraulics and Water Resources Aspects on Global Water Issues for 30th Anniversary of Water Resources Research Center
水資源環境研究センターでは、昭和53年4月に水資源研究センターとして発足し、平成17年4月に防災研究所の改組を経て現在に至っています。研究課題としては、流域・地域規模から地球規模までの水循環・物質循環を対象に気象・水文学的観点より科学的・定量的にモデル化し、水資源環境評価のシステム論的な方法を展開しています。また、地域開発，水利用，汚染物質排出の影響を考慮しうる流域規模での水環境対策を検討しています。さらに、人間活動による水需要増加や地域・流域変化が社会や生態環境に及ぼす影響を踏まえて、水資源の社会的・生態的リスクマネジメントの提案を行うものです。2008年に30周年を迎えるのを契機に、国際ワークショップを開催しセンター活動の世界への表示とさらなる今後の活動につなげるものです。
Purpose: Impact of Global warming and its countermeasures should be discussed to understand the interaction between natural water circulation and social-human activities from multi-viewpoints such as hydrology, hydraulics and water resources because many factors are linked in global, river basin and human scales. Since Water Resources Research Center, Kyoto University celebrates her 30th Anniversary in 2008, the memorial symposium will be held by inviting the excellent speakers of the water-related associations such as IAHS, IAHR and WRRC (Water Resources Research Center) from the world. One of main research topics of WRRC is climate change and global warming to show the interested and significant results on river basin environment and water utilization through simulation models. After downscaling of GCM outputs, the important factors in runoff processes, channel flow dynamics, river basin management and water utilization processes by invited speakers are presented to evaluate the impact of global warming for sound and sustainable human life with this opportunity.
