Meeting with Nohsei-kai (Kyoto University Manila Alumni) (February 9, 2013)

Nohsei-kai in Manila is an alumni association comprised of Kyoto University graduates residing in the Philippines.

In the city of Makati (Manila, the Philippines), Chair Yukihiro Kawahara (1977 graduate from the Faculty of Agriculture) and other members of Nohsei-kai held a meeting with faculty members from Kyoto University. A total of eleven participants attended the meeting.

Participants enjoyed discussing many different topics--such as changes in the university, from their student days to the present, and recent issues concerning the university. This year, in particular, the participants included a Kyoto University student staying in Manila on an overseas internship program (funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) of UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) and a member from Hanoi Yoshida-kai. Across generations of members, participants actively exchanged views regarding the current status of internationalization at Kyoto University and challenges being faced in building alumni networks. The meeting ended on a successful note.
