Hanoi Yoshida-kai Meeting Held (January 31, 2013)

Hanoi Yoshida-kai is an alumni association consisting of Kyoto University graduates residing in Hanoi, Vietnam. Recently, Dr. Yuzo Ohnishi (Special Assistant to the President) visited the Vietnam National University, Hanoi - Kyoto University Collaboration Office (VKCO) as our overseas base in Hanoi to exchange views with the staff from Vietnamese universities. On this occasion, a new year's meeting was organized by Chairman Satoshi Kakuta from Hanoi Yoshida-kai (1970 graduate from the Faculty of Engineering) and Secretary Yoshito Kikuma (2008 graduate from the Faculty of Letters), which was attended by delegates from Kyoto University, including Dr. Ohnishi.

Japanese and Vietnamese participants actively mingled together at the meeting, which was also attended by Professor Ta Thanh Van (chairman), Dr. Do Van Truong (secretary) and Dr. Mai Nguyen Ngoc from the local Vietnamese alumni association. Kyoto University will continue promoting mutual exchange among Japanese graduates active in Asian countries and former international students at Kyoto University.
