General Meeting of Kyoto University Ibunkai's Tokyo-Area Network Team (September 29, 2012)

The general meeting of Kyoto University Ibunkai's Tokyo-area network team was held at the Gakushi Kaikan Hotel in Tokyo with sixty-three members in attendance.

The network team is an alumni association comprised of graduates from the Faculty of Letters and the Graduate School of Letters residing in the Kanto area. Since a career guidance event (job-hunting seminar) was held at the university's Tokyo Office in Shinagawa on the same day, as the first such attempt for the Faculty and Graduate School of Letters, 50 current students who participated in the seminar also joined the Ibunkai meeting, which boosted the number of participants to an unusual level of 113.

Before the general meeting, a lecture titled "From the Production Site of the Professional Series" was given by Mr. Nobuto Ariyoshi, an NHK producer and graduate from the Faculty of Letters, who has been involved in the production of numerous documentary programs.

At the general meeting, Dean Yoshihisa Hattori and Professor Yoshihiko Sugimoto from the Graduate School of Letters gave speeches summarizing current situations regarding the university.

After the general meeting, a social party was held, which provided an opportunity for graduates and current students to talk together in a very friendly atmosphere. Many student participants said they were pleased to listen to the informative conversations of graduates, while graduates enjoyed interacting with energetic young students.

In addition to promoting friendship among graduates, the network team plans to strongly support current students into the future.
