3rd Meeting of Kyoto University Shonan Alumni (October 23, 2011)

Kyoto University Shonan Alumni's third meeting was held in Fujisawa City, with the participation of twenty members.

The meeting opened with a speech by Mr. Kisaburo Ueda (1952 graduate from the Faculty of Engineering), after which members participating for the first time introduced themselves: Mr. Hayato Kimura (1967 graduate from the Faculty of Agriculture), Mr. Takashi Udagawa (1970 graduate from the Faculty of Agriculture), Mr. Toru Kihara (1971 graduate from the Faculty of Law), Mr. Takatoshi Matsuura (1973 graduate from the Faculty of Science) and Mr. Kazuhiro Kawasaki (1973 graduate from the Faculty of Engineering). Later, Mr. Ikko Nakatsuka (senior vice-minister of the Cabinet Office, member of the House of Representatives and a 1990 graduate from the Faculty of Engineering) talked about the current situation of Japan. His speech sparked keen interest among participants, which was later followed by a heated question and answer session.

A great variety of members gathered at the meeting, including graduates from 1952 to 2010 and from the faculties of engineering, agriculture, science, law and education. Participants had an enjoyable time, and the meeting ended with Mr. Masahiro Nakajima (1972 graduate from the Faculty of Engineering) calling for sanbon-jime hand clapping.

The meeting will be held annually in the fall.
