Interacting with KU Alumni in Taiwan

July 19, 2009

The Japan Education Fair was held by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) in Kaohsiung and Taipei (Taiwan) on July 18 and 19, 2009. After the fair in Taipei on the 19th, a party was held at the Sheraton Hotel, Taipei, to interact with Kyoto University (KU) alumni residing in Taiwan. The party served as a good opportunity to actively exchange opinions on KU international exchange efforts and the Japanese government's Global 30 (G30) Program. The party was attended by Associate Professor Junko Kawai (at the International Center), Program-Specific Assistant Professor Han Liyou (at the Center), and Mr. Kentaro Seo (of the Foreign Student Division, the International Affairs Department).

The party participants, including Mr. Hsu Minhui (Chair of the KU Alumni Association in Taiwan, and Chair of the Yung Chong Fund) and many other KU alumni, shared their KU memories and hopes for the future in a friendly atmosphere. They decided to offer their cooperation regarding KU international exchange efforts, such as Kyoto University Programs for Future International Leaders (K. U. PROFILE), an educational initiative of KU under the G30 Program.
