Kyoto University TechConnect 2016 (11 March 2016)

Published on

On 11 March, the Graduate School of Engineering (GSE) held the fifth Kyoto University TechConnect at the Innovation Plaza on the Katsura Campus, with 43 people attending.

Focused on bio-imaging, GSE's latest technology showcase event featured presentations by four researchers working on devices such as molecular probes and biomagnetic sensors.

Afterwards, a networking session provided an opportunity for extended conversations between the presenters and the audience, which included representatives of biotech and sensor companies as well as medical professionals and industry-academia collaboration coordinators.

Attendees' comments indicated strong interest and high satisfaction, and included suggestions and requests that reflected extensive technical knowledge. Some commenters asked for future events to focus on biotechnology, devices, and other specific areas.

GSE intends to continue hosting TechConnect biannually at the Innovation Plaza -- each event devoted to a specific theme -- so as to help the business community and the University explore possibilities for match-ups, and lay the groundwork for future collaboration.
