The 'KIZUNA' event for August was a wagashi (Japanese sweets) workshop held in collaboration with Aishindo, a local confectionery shop.

Participants first learned about the history of Japanese sweets and then watched an impressive demonstration of wagashi- making skills given by a craftsman from Aishindo. When it was their turn to make wagashi , the participants seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience despite the delicate and often difficult procedures involved, eventually producing beautiful creations. The event concluded with everyone enjoying the opportunity for cross-cultural communication over tea and handmade wagashi .
