'KIZUNA' presents Kimono Dressing Class (28 March 2016)

Published on

The 'KIZUNA' event for March was a Kimono Dressing Class, held Monday the 28th in conjunction with the COCOLOIKI project, which is operated by the Education and Research Unit for Regional Alliances, Center for the Promotion of Interdisciplinary Education and Research (C-PIER).

Instruction was provided by members of Kyoto Kimono Kikaku, a KU student organization active in planning and organizing kimono-related events across Kyoto. In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants followed step-by-step instructions from the Kikaku members and learned how to wear kimono, all the while enjoying casual chats with each other.

Clad in beautiful kimono, the participants posed in front of the Clock Tower for photos.

The event provided a great opportunity for the participating students to learn about the traditional Japanese clothing and culture as well as to mingle with other participants.
