The January KIZUNA event is a kakizome calligraphy workshop, taught by members of Sumizome Shodo Kai, who offer regular lessons at the Kyoto Prefectural International Center.

Kakizome, the year's first calligraphy writing, is a popular New Year's tradition. Workshop participants will practice brush-writing their favorite kanji or other auspicious characters, and lastly write on shikishi (signature boards) to take home as souvenirs.

This will be an invaluable opportunity to learn about a seasonal tradition and make new friends, and is a great way to start the new year. KIZUNA is looking forward to your participation.
