FY2015 entrance examination fees may be waived for those affected by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake & Tsunami

Prospective Kyoto University students whose primary financial supporter meets any of the conditions set forth below may apply to have their fees for the FY2015 entrance examinations (including those administered by a Faculty or Graduate School as well as by the University itself) waived.

Applicants may be exempt from paying the examination fees if their primary financial supporter:

  1. Died in the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami (hereinafter "Earthquake") in a region subject to Higashi-Nihon Daishinsai ni Kakaru Saigai Kyujo Ho ("Disaster Relief Act Relating to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami", hereinafter "Disaster Relief Act")
  2. Died in the Earthquake in a region deemed equivalent to those subject to the Disaster Relief Act
  3. Had his/her home partially or totally destroyed or burned down, or inundated above floor level, due to the Earthquake in a region subject to the Disaster Relief Act
  4. Had his/her home partially or totally destroyed or burned down, or inundated above floor level, due to the Earthquake in a region deemed equivalent to those subject to the Disaster Relief Act
  5. Had his/her work-related properties (such as a company building, office, farm, and fishing boat) destroyed in the Earthquake in a region subject to the Disaster Relief Act, resulting in a loss of income
  6. Has evacuated his/her home or workplace as ordered by the Governor of Fukushima Prefecture, resulting in a loss of income

* Applications for the examination fee exemption must include a copy of Risai Shomei-sho ("Disaster Victim Certificate").
