UPDATE (4 September 2020): The exhibition will open on Saturday 5 September and run through Sunday 8 November. Advance reservations are required to enter the museum.
This year, CiRA (Center for iPS Cell Research and Application, Kyoto University) is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its foundation. To commemorate, the Kyoto University Museum is exhibiting "The Journey of iPS Cell Research - The World of CiRA -" from September to November 2020.
In these 10 years, CiRA has grown from an institute of approximately 150 staff members to one of 600. It has also pushed forward research toward clinical applications from iPS cell research, which is a testament to the hard work done by its staff.
This special exhibit will give an overview of the institute's history and future challenges. By highlighting the people who work at CiRA, the exhibit gives visitors a chance to learn about the different experts and equipment needed for iPS cell research. The exhibit also allows visitors the chance to experience what it is like being a researcher and the opportunity to share their comments about CiRA and iPS cells.
We look forward to your visit.
