The Kyoto University Risk Research Network (KURRN), in association with the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) Japan, is hosting its second symposium on 31 August, with University of Stuttgart Professor Ortwin Renn, ex-SRA President, as the keynote speaker.
Formulating effective policy responses to risk -- whether related to human physical or mental health, or a threat to the existence of an entire society or ecosystem -- requires incorporating and utilizing the results of scientific assessment and well-informed stakeholder dialog.
The 2016 Kyoto Symposium provides a forum for exploring new approaches to risk research, with the understanding that a greater emphasis should now be placed on delivering practical benefits that contribute to societal well-being.
Featuring early- to mid-career researchers from a wide range of disciplines as speakers, this event promotes cross-disciplinary dialogue and the integration of various risk-research approaches.
All those interested are welcome to attend.
