Ceremonies held to mark presidency succession and end of term for President Yamagiwa and current EVPs (30 September 2020)

On the eve of the inauguration of its 27th President, Kyoto University held a ceremony marking the succession of presidency from Dr Juichi Yamagiwa to Dr Nagahiro Minato, provost and executive vice-president, followed by another honoring the outgoing President and executive vice-presidents.

During the latter ceremony, Provost/EVP Minato represented the University's faculty and staff in thanking the 26th President and EVPs for their services, who then delivered their final remarks.

Afterward, the 26th President and EVPs appeared in the ground-floor lobby of the University Head Office building, where they received a hearty round of applause from an assembled crowd of faculty and staff.
