For the month of December, 'KIZUNA' has organized a Japanese tea ceremony workshop, "The Pleasure of a Simple Bowl of Tea", in collaboration with the COCOLOIKI project, which is operated by the Education and Research Unit for Regional Alliances, Center for the Promotion of Interdisciplinary Education and Research (C-PIER).
The workshop will be taught by Mr Michael Drzmisek Sozui, a Swiss-born Urasenke tea master, in his well-known tearoom, Kanjoan, which has been featured on TV.
Kanjoan, whose name means a "hut in which to be at ease and free of concerns", is an exquisite three-tatami-mat tearoom that is part of a renovated Japanese-style old house located in northwest Kyoto City.
Comprising a short lecture and a practice session, the event presents an invaluable opportunity to learn the spirit and art of Japanese tea making from an English-speaking teacher.
Enjoy a bowl of Japanese tea with seasonal sweets while experiencing and discussing Japanese culture and history.
We are looking forward to your participation.
