On 2 November, the Japanese government announced that it will award a Medal with Purple Ribbon for fall 2016 to Professor Kayo Inaba, executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and public relations, along with 771 other individuals and 20 groups.
The Medal with Purple Ribbon biannually recognizes outstanding individual and group contributions to academic and artistic developments, improvements, and accomplishments.
An award ceremony will be held Tuesday 15 November 2016.
