On 20 May, the Japanese government announced that it will award a Medal with Purple Ribbon for spring 2019 to Professor Atsuhiro Osuka of the Graduate School of Science, along with 20 other individuals.
The Medal with Purple Ribbon biannually recognizes outstanding individual and group contributions to academic and artistic developments, improvements, and accomplishments.
An award ceremony will be held Thursday 30 May 2019.
