Call for applications: African studies seminars in Africa

發表日期

The Center for African Area Studies (CAAS) has begun accepting applications for the Kyoto University African Studies On-Site Seminar (KUASOSS) program. This seminar is funded from the University, provided by the 2017-2018 President's discretionary spending fund.

Since its inception in 1986, CAAS has held open seminars on African area studies on a monthly basis, inviting experts from across Japan to share their latest research with the general audience. Additionally, CAAS launched the Kyoto University African Studies Seminar (KUASS) series in 2011, a program conducted in English by renowned scholars from outside the country.

KUASOSS builds on these efforts in collaboration with Africa's leading universities and research institutes to present seminars featuring Kyoto University's early-career researchers and graduate students. Participants from Kyoto will share their work with African audiences and explore opportunities for research collaboration with their local counterparts.

CAAS looks forward to your application.
