We will visit the Kankoboko (函谷鉾), which is one of the Yamaboko floats that parade in the Gion Festival. We can ride on the Hoko (鉾), and also look at the artworks decorating the Hoko, for example Belgian tapestry in 16th century. We will also visit the Kankoboko Preservation Association, and hear not only how they preserve the Kankoboko and support the festival, but also the history of the Gion Festival.
