Associate Professors Miho Ishii, of the Institute for Research in Humanity, and Hiroshi Iritani, of the Graduate School of Science -- along with 23 other researchers nationwide -- have been selected to receive the 14th Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Prize.
The award ceremony took place Wednesday 7 February 2018 at the Japan Academy (Nippon Gakushi-in) in Tokyo.

The JSPS Prize was established in 2004 to honor highly creative and capable Japanese researchers in their early careers. By further motivating such researchers in their work and supporting their endeavors, it aims to contribute to raising " the level of scientific research in Japan to the world's highest standard".
Awardees are selected by a committee of world-leading researchers from various fields of the humanities and sciences.
