On 6 September, Hue KyotoU GSGES Office at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF), Vietnam, held its 10th anniversary ceremony with 11 KyotoU faculty attending.

The ceremony began with HUAF Rector Le Van An greeting the crowd and reflecting on the history of his institution's partnership with GSGES. This was followed by a congratulatory address from GSGES Dean Shinya Funakawa. GSGES Professor Shigeo Fujii then outlined the Hue Office's achievements in research and education over the past decade, before Dr Do Thi Xuan, vice president of Hue University, offered her words of congratulations.

Dean Funakawa presented Rector Le with a “Certificate of Appreciation” crystal plaque as a token of appreciation for his special contributions to the Hue Office. Rector Le, in return, presented a commemorative gift on behalf of HUAF to Dean Funakawa.

Next, a “Young Researchers Research Presentation” session took place, moderated by GSGES Associate Professor Izuru Saizen. The session featured GSGES' Specially Appointed Researcher Minori Tokito and three HUAF researchers, who highlighted some of the recent achievements of the GSGES-HUAF research and education collaboration.

The ceremony then wrapped up with a commemorative photo shoot.

Each year, numerous KyotoU faculty and students visit HUAF through the Hue Office for research and studies. The 10th anniversary event provided an invaluable opportunity for the two universities to explore further possibilities of this partnership.
