Korean-in-Japan Alumni holds general meeting and round-table talk (28 October 2017)

On 28 October, Kyoto University Korean-in-Japan Alumni (KUKIJA) held a general meeting and a round-table talk at the Clock Tower Centennial Hall, with around 50 attendees.

KUKIJA consists primarily of Japan-based KU alumni, students, and faculty of Korean nationality and ancestry.

At the general meeting, co-hosted by Kyoto University Alumni, KUKIJA Chairman Bae Hun (Faculty of Economics 1977) reported on the completion of the association's registration as an ippan shadan hojin, or General Incorporated Association (GIA), and announced a plan to launch a publishing project.

Dr Yoshihiro Tokuga, vice-president for university fund administration and alumni, delivered remarks on behalf of the University, offering words of congratulations for the GIA registration and well-wishing the association’s future, along with an overview of the University’s ongoing activities.

A round-table talk entitled “KUKIJA’s publishing project” followed, featuring Chairman Bae, Dr Se-il Mun, dean of the Graduate School of Economics, Dr Kizo Ogura, professor of the Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies, and Hyejin Numgung, second-year student of the Graduate School of Agriculture. They explored the project's possible focus areas in a lively discussion, engaging the entire audience.
