The award ceremony for the 2nd Kyoto University Scenic Photo Contest was held as part of the 6th Kyoto University Homecoming Day events.
The contest invited entries from Kyoto University's alumni, staff members and students. The photographer had to pick a scene which he or she wanted to share with others, or which impressed him or her, among past and present scenes within the campus either familiar or unfamiliar to many. From a total of thirty-eight entries, judges selected one for the Grand Prix, three for the Excellence Awards, twelve for other prizes and one for the Judges Award. At the award ceremony, Executive Vice-President Yuzo Ohnishi presented the winners of the Grand Prix and Excellence Awards with commemorative prizes.
The seventeen prize winning photos, from the Grand Prix winner to the Judges Award winner, will be exhibited at the University Lounge on the first floor of the Clock Tower Centennial Hall from November 4 (Friday) to November 30 (Wednesday), and then at our Tokyo Office.
