A regular biennial meeting of Kyoto University Gifu Alumni (Rakuyukai) was held at the Gifu Grand Hotel with the participation of forty-eight members.

With roughly 450 members, the association consists of Kyoto University graduates residing in Gifu City, including those from the former Imperial University, the present Kyoto University, and graduate schools.

During the meeting, while Mr. Koji Onogi (1977 graduate from the Faculty of Engineering), the organizer of the meeting, served as the master of ceremonies, Dr. Mitsuo Yamada (1947 graduate from the Faculty of Medicine), representing the organizing group, extended greetings to the attendees, followed by Executive Vice-President Yuzo Onishi, who gave a speech titled "Kyoto University Now." Mr. Taemon Okamoto (1953 graduate from the Faculty of Economics) then opened the party with a toast. From each table, one member spoke about his or her recent news and hopes, and the party went on in a relaxed atmosphere.

At the end of the party, the participants all together sang Kurenai Moyuru (the dormitory song of the former Third High School) and Biwako Shuko no Uta, closing the meeting in a joyful mood.
