First Graduates of the Faculty of Engineering's Polymer Chemistry Department Held an Alumni Meeting (April 24, 2011)

The first graduates from the Faculty of Engineering's Polymer Chemistry Department, who enrolled in the undergraduate program in 1961 (and the master's program of the graduate school in 1965), gathered at an alumni meeting. For the first time in five years, twenty-three graduates from across the nation gathered at the University Lounge, visited the Guest Room (formerly, the President's Office) and the Kyoto University Museum, walked around the campus, and in the end had a chance to socialize at the La Tour restaurant in the Clock Tower Centennial Hall building. Amazed by the new look of the campus, they enjoyed conversations with old friends, recalling memories from their youth, and were able to rekindle their friendships. On the following day, after enjoying the old beauty of Kyoto in a sightseeing tour on a chartered bus, the alumni went home expressing their wishes to meet again in the future at the Clock Tower Centennial Hall.
