Call for applications: 2019 Humanosphere Mission Research

발행일

In order to address issues of importance to the survival of humanity, the Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere (RISH) is pursuing advanced integrated research in the following five mission areas: 1) Environmental Diagnosis and Regulation of Circulatory Function, 2) Advanced Development of Science and Technology Towards a Solar Energy Society, 3) Sustainable Space Environments for Humankind, 4) Development and Utilization of Wood-based Sustainable Materials in Harmony with the Human Living Environment, and 5) Quality of the Future Humanosphere. As part of its efforts to advance these missions, RISH's Center for Exploratory Research on Humanosphere is publicly inviting researchers to lead or participate in "Humanosphere Mission Research" projects as follows. The Center looks forward to receiving your application.

Eligibility

In order to apply as a project "director", applicants must be:

  • Full-time instructors at Kyoto University (including fixed-term instructors) or other national or public research institutes, or full-time researchers who are eligible to apply for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (including those affiliated with a National Research and Development Agency or Incorporated Administrative Agency), or in comparable positions if based outside Japan
  • Or, deemed qualified to apply for the position by the Director of the Center for Exploratory Research on Humanosphere.

Each applicant may apply to lead one project only. Those not affiliated with RISH must specify one or more RISH members as their collaborators and one as the "person responsible at RISH" for their project.

Notes regarding honorary professors and applicants from abroad:

  • Honorary professors must have a full-time researcher represent their project as its director. They may, however, apply to be the director themselves if they intend to work from home and can supply details of their work environment.
  • Applicants based abroad are advised to consult with their RISH collaborators about how they will conduct research in their home countries, and agree in advance on a budget plan where all accounting procedures are conducted at RISH. It is recommended that applications from abroad be submitted by the "person responsible at RISH".

Those working under the supervision of another researcher or instructor, such as post-doctorate researchers, may apply to be collaborators. It is advised, however, that they first check to see whether doing so would be permitted by their organizations.

Application deadline
