In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) has launched an online platform, "Corona Chronicles: Voices from the Field", to collect and disseminate various perspectives and analysis from Southeast Asia and other regions.

This special site aims to present the latest research findings from different countries and regions on how individuals, communities, and nations are being affected by and reacting to COVID-19.

On 11 March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2) had become a global pandemic. As of 15 May 2020, 4.4 million people have been infected, with an additional 300,000 confirmed dead. CSEAS has been closely following this unprecedented global event, which has affected the lives and health of so many people, and carefully examining its possible consequences.

The platform is not limited to academic analysis, and features contributions from writers, filmmakers, journalists, and medical and healthcare personnel. Some of the articles are written anonymously due to political circumstances on the ground.

Corona Chronicles will provide comparative regional perspectives through a diversity of opinions and observations, offering a unique insight into what is happening across regions, while also serving as a platform for sharing knowledge and responses.

Content will be regularly updated and available free online.
