"Kyoteiko Hiroba": lunchtime events for inbound/outbound exchange students (6 and 7 December 2017)

발행일

On 6 and 7 December 2017, the International Education and Student Mobility Division, together with the International Academic Research and Resource Center for Language Education, Institute for Liberal and Arts and Science (ILAS), held a series of events entitled Kyoteiko Hiroba , or "Partner Universities Square", at the ILAS Building.

Kyoteiko Hiroba promotes interaction among students going to and from Kyoto University's exchange-partner institutions. It is also a chance for those interested in studying abroad to learn about available opportunities, and an occasion to help inbound students develop deeper connections with the University and Japan.

Over two days, students from partner universities delivered presentations, in English or in Japanese, on their home institutions and countries: Peking University and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (China), University of Zurich (Switzerland), Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin, Germany), The University of Auckland (New Zealand), University of Bordeaux (France), and University of Malaya (Malysia). Presentations each day were followed by informal discussions, where participants enjoyed international networking over lunch.

The events attracted a total of 82 students -- including 18 from 10 countries outside Japan -- reflecting a high level of interest in study-abroad opportunities.

The next Kyoteiko Hiroba events are scheduled for 2018.
