appoint a suitable candidate to the position of Professor,in the Population
Genetics Section, Department of Evolution and Phylogeny. The Population
Genetics Section has performed studies on the genetic structure of
primate populations, as well as the genetic diversity at intra- and

molecular population genetic methods. Prior experience with non-human
primates is not essential. We desire a person who intensively promotes
projects of molecular population genetics and phylogenetic evolution
in primates. Adequate knowledge of Japanese is required, as the successful
candidate is required to fully participate in faculty meetings and
other administrative matters conducted in Japanese, and to lecture
graduate students on Evolutionary Genetics in either English or Japanese.
Faculty members are also expected to promote the research of primates

Population Genetics Section, and Systematics and Phylogeny Section),
Department of Ecology and Social Behavior (includes Ecology Section
and Social Behavior Section), Department of Behavioral and Brain Sciences
(includes Language and Intelligence Section, Cognition and Learning
Section, and Brain Research Section), Department of Cellular and Molecular
