Associate Professorship or Lectureship - Job Opportunity (Rehabilitation Science Course, Human Health Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University)

Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, is inviting applications for one Associate Professorship or Lectureship in Rehabilitation Science Course (Human Health Sciences). The successful candidate is expected to be a distinguished researcher-teacher with ability and enthusiasm for teaching undergraduate courses in English for General Academic Purposes. He/She is also expected to carry out scientific study on Human Health Sciences and guide research of undergraduate and graduate students.

Content of work:
Duties: The successful candidate is required to teach about four undergraduate classes in English for General Academic Purposes (including Scientific English and/or Medical English) per semester and perform administrative work. He/She is also expected to carry out scientific study on Human Health Sciences and guide research of undergraduate and graduate students. Additional duties (e.g. special lectures) may arise with respect to the undergraduate and the graduate school.

Qualifications:
  1. Applicants must have a master's degree or a higher academic degree.
  2. Applicants must have ability and enthusiasm for teaching English.
  3. Applicants must have expert knowledge in Human Health Sciences.
  4. Applicants can be of Japanese or non-Japanese nationality, but oral communication skill in Japanese is preferable.

  4. Reprints or photocopies of major publications.
  5. Written summary of prospects for his/her research and educational activities at Kyoto University (within 2000 letters in Japanese or within 800 words in English).
  6. Full list of acquired research funds.
  7. Recommendation letters from people who are knowledgeable about the applicant can be attached.

Process and schedule:

  2. Interviews may be held for listed candidates. Possibly, listed candidates will be asked to make a presentation on their work and perspective; These sessions will be held in Kyoto, regrettably with no reimbursement available for the traveling expenses incurred.
