COI STREAM "The Last 5X Innovation R&D Center for a Smart, Happy, and Resilient Society"

The goal of Kyoto University's "The Last 5X Innovation R&D Center for a Smart, Happy, and Resilient Society" is to realize "a smart, flexible and accommodating society in which citizens remain active and pursue new challenges throughout their entire lives". To this end, businesses and universities, sharing the vision of that desired social structure, are collaborating vertically and horizontally, transcending the limits that usually divide different academic research fields such as engineering, medical science, economics, psychology, and the social sciences, and crossing the boundaries between industries, in order for the results brought about by this project to be widely utilized for the betterment of society.
