Facilities Overseas

As one of Japan's leading research-oriented institutions, Kyoto University not only engages in joint research with many universities overseas, it is also building its own overseas research facilities, chiefly in Asia and Africa. Plans call for nearly half of the 22 projects that Kyoto University is running as part of "The 21st Century Center of Excellence (COE) Program" to be located in overseas research centers.
