Prohibited Articles to Japan
Those who failure to comply with these restrictions may be liable for punishment. In addition, they will result in exclusion from the University, or suspension of scholarship. Please note that goods other than mentioned above may be subject to taxation.
1. The following articles are prohibited from entry by law:
- Opium, cocaine, heroin, magic mushrooms, and other stimulant drugs, psychotropic substances, etc.
- Firearms (pistols, rifles, machine guns, etc.) , ammunition (bullets), and their parts
- Explosive (dynamite, gunpowder, etc.)
- Precursor materials for chemical weapons
- Counterfeit, altered, or imitation coins, paper money, bank notes, or securities, and forged credit cards
- Books, drawings, carvings, and any other articles which may harm public safety or morals
- Articles which infringe upon rights protected by patent, utility model, design, etc
- Animals prohibited by the Domestic Animal Infectious Diseases Control Law and plants prohibited by the Infectious Disease Prevention Law.
2. The following articles are restricted from entry by law:
- Animals and plants stipulated by the CITES (the Washington Trade)
- Plants and animals must be presented to the plant or animal quarantine officer for quarantine inspection prior to Customs examination
