Tuition Exemption
Eligibility
Regular undergraduate/graduate students who are facing financial difficulties and who meet one of the following requirements may be eligible to apply for the exemption (full or half amount) of tuition.
- Students with excellent academic records who find it difficult to pay tuition due to economic reasons
However, such students may not apply if they have:
(1)stayed at university beyond the minimum years required to complete a course of study without any special reason; or
(2)remained in the same grade for another year without any special reason. - Students who find it extremely difficult to pay tuition because an individual who is chiefly responsible for their academic expenses ("Academic Expense Supporter") has deceased or the students themselves or their Academic Expense Supporter have incurred damages caused by wind, flood, or other disasters within six months prior to the due date for payment of such tuition (or within twelve months prior to admission, if application for exemption of tuition is being made for a semester to which the day of admission belongs)
- Students who have reasons(s) that are recognized by the President as equivalent to those in 2. above
Please note that students are not eligible if the tuition for the semester(s) preceding the one for which exemption of tuition is being applied is overdue, if they have paid tuition for the semester or academic year for which exemption is being applied, or if they have received disciplinary action or are receiving disciplinary action at the time of application or within six months prior to the semester for which exemption of tuition is being applied. If a student receives disciplinary action after application, the student will lose eligibility to apply and it will result in revocation of the application.
Please direct inquiries about your eligibility to the administration office of your faculty or graduate school ("Application Contact").
