Eligibility Requirements for Applicants
Exemption of Admission Fee
Regular undergraduate/graduate students who are facing financial difficulties and meet one of the following requirements may be eligible to apply for the exemption (full or half amount) of admission fee. If a student receives disciplinary action after application, he/she will lose eligibility to apply and it will result in revocation of the application.
Please note that the application eligibility differs slightly for undergraduate and graduate students.
(1) Undergraduate Students
- Students who find it extremely difficult to pay the admission fee because an individual who is chiefly responsible for their academic expenses ("Academic Expense Supporter") has deceased, or the students themselves or their Academic Expense Supporter have incurred damages caused by disasters within twelve months prior to their admission
- Students who have reason(s) that are recognized by the President as equivalent to those in 1. above
(2) Graduate Students
- Students with excellent academic records who find it difficult to pay the admission fee due to economic reasons
- Students who find it extremely difficult to pay the admission fee because an individual who is chiefly responsible for their academic expenses ("Academic Expense Supporter") has deceased, or the students themselves or their Academic Expense Supporter have incurred damages caused by disasters within twelve months prior to their admission
- Students who have reason(s) that are recognized by the President as equivalent to those in 2. above

Deferment of Admission Fee
Regular undergraduate/graduate students who find it difficult to pay the admission fee by the deadline and meet one of the following requirements may be eligible to apply for the deferment of admission fee. If a student receives disciplinary action after application, he/she will lose eligibility to apply and it will result in revocation of the application.
(1) Undergraduate/(2) Graduate Students
- Students with excellent academic records who find it difficult to pay the admission fee by the deadline due to economic reasons
- Students who find it extremely difficult to pay the admission fee by the deadline because an individual who is chiefly responsible for their academic expenses ("Academic Expense Supporter") has deceased, or the students themselves or their Academic Expense Supporter have incurred damages caused by disasters within twelve months prior to their admission
- Students who have reason(s) that are recognized by the President as equivalent to those in 2. above
Application procedure
(1) Undergraduate students
Students who have been qualified as a primary applicant can only apply to the secondary application.

Undergraduate students who wish to apply for exemption of admission fee, contact the administration office of the undergraduate school where they will be enrolled by telephone, and follow the instructions provided.
If a student is accepted as a qualified candidate for exemption of admission fee, please download and complete Preliminary Application for Exemption of Admission Fee/ Preliminary Application for Deferment of Admission Fee (Form10, 10-2)
(Word) (PDF) and send the form with other entrance documents (including a self-addressed return envelope with a stamp (140yen) on it). The administration office will send you the guide of exemption/deferment "How to Apply for exemption/deferment of admission fee".
Applicants may be requested to submit other documents/forms depending on their family situation. For further details, please refer to the exemption/deferment guide "How to Apply for exemption/deferment of admission fee".
These forms are available on this page below. If you are asked to submit one of the following forms, please download applicable form and complete properly, submit it with other necessary documents/forms.
[Deferment of admission fee only]
Undergraduate students who wish to apply for deferment of admission fee, please contact the administration office of the undergraduate school where they will be enrolled by telephone, and follow the instructions provided. If a student is accepted as a qualified candidate for deferment of admission fee, please download and complete Preliminary Application for Deferment of Admission Fee (Form10-2) (Word) (PDF) and send the form with other entrance documents (including a self-addressed return envelope with a stamp (140yen) on it).
The following secondary application should be filed in a same procedure as stated above in the "both applying" section.
(2) Graduate students
Graduate students, contact the administration office of the graduate school where they will be enrolled.

Please download applicable forms below depending on their family situation. For undergraduate students, please make sure to submit all necessary forms during the secondary application period.

Term of receiving and submission of application documents
Applicants need to receive and submit the application forms within a fixed time limit designated by each faculty/graduate school.
About decision of exemption/deferment of admission fee
Please note that due to strict budgetary limitations, all applicants will not be necessarily granted exemption of admission fee.
Students who have enrolled in April will be notified of the decision in late May, and those who have enrolled in October will be notified of the same in late November.
Decisions on exemption/non-exemption will be notified via the bulletin board.
Please visit the Application Contact for confirmation. If your application has been declined, you will receive a fund transfer request form. Please use the form to send the admission fee to the account designated by the University by the date indicated on the form (within fourteen days of the day on which the decision was made). Failure to make the payment by the deadline will lead to revocation of your student status.
Others
If any information provided in the forms or documents submitted later be found to be false, permission for exemption will be revoked. Any deficiency, etc. in the application forms or non-submission of required documents may result in revocation of the application. When applying, please read the Exemption Guide carefully to ensure that all necessary documents are prepared and completed properly and then submit them by the deadline.
