Send-off meeting for FY2015 John Mung Program participants (28 July 2015)

On 28 July, a send-off meeting was held for those who are taking part in this year's John Mung Program, a university-wide overseas initiative aimed at fostering the next generation of global leaders.

The meeting was attended by 43 students -- 42 going on to study at the University of Oxford and one heading to the University of Cambridge -- and two staff members due to train at, respectively, New York University and the S&R Foundation.

The entire event proceeded in English, with President Juichi Yamagiwa offering words of encouragement, and representatives of the student and staff programs each responding with a speech expressing determination to make the most of the opportunities given. The closing address was delivered by Professor Toshio Sugiman, Executive Vice-President for Student Affairs and Library Services.

The meeting concluded with the program participants, President Yamagiwa, and other university officials sitting for a commemorative group photo.
