Facilities

In the Clock Tower Centennial Hall, there are facilities set up for a unique purpose: a Centennial Hall, International Conference Hall and a University Lounge which are intended especially for academic exchange, and the University Archives which collects and preserves various academic and administrative documents related to the history of Kyoto University. The University Historical Exhibition Room is a museum which exhibits, among other things, historical documents, news films, and "geshuku" (an old style of student dormitory) .

First Floor

Centennial Hall

The hall is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for academic conferences, symposiums, and lectures. Simultaneous interpretation equipment is available on request.

University Lounge (Kyodai Salon)

Coffee and a variety of beverages including wine and cocktails are available in a luxurious salon setting. Books on Kyoto and Japan and magazines are available for casual reading.

Historical Exhibition Room & University Archives Reading Room

For your interest, the University Archives' documents and pictures on the history of Kyoto University are available to the public. Please apply at the Archives reception desk.

Hours :

9:30-17:00 closed every first Monday of the month.

  • Or the second Monday if the first Monday is a national holiday.
  • The Reading Room is open on Wed, Thurs, and Fri.

University Archives (Kyodai Bunsho-kan)

The Archives collect and preserve documents related to the history of Kyoto University for study purpose.

Kyoto University Gift Shop

A selection of university goods and books authored by the faculty of Kyoto University

Restaurant La Tour

This restaurant serves high quality French cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. The wine list is comprised of about 100 varieties from France, Italy, California and Japan. All guests, including those from outside the university, are welcomed.

Available for ceremonies, meetings, lectures and receptions.

(The hall can be divided into 3 divisions by installing partitions. Capacity of each division: 100 persons)

Capacity: (I) 18 persons, (II) 18 persons, (III) 30 persons, (IV) 24 persons

Guest Room

The preserved office of the president. Available for viewing on request at the General Information Desk.

First Basement

Clock Tower Cooperative Shop

A collection of shops which provide food, goods, medicine, clocks, and services such as photographic service, photocopying, and dry cleaning.

Convention Service Center

The Center provides conference organizers with a variety of logistic support, including reservation of railway and airplane tickets and accommodation. JR tickets are on sale here.
