The January KIZUNA event is a Japanese calligraphy workshop, taught by members of Sumizome Shodo Kai, who offer regular lessons at the Kyoto Prefectural International Center.

Kakizome, the year's first calligraphy writing, is a popular New Year's tradition. Workshop participants will practice brush-writing their favorite kanji or other auspicious characters, and lastly write on shikishi (signature boards) to take home as souvenirs.

This start to the New Year will be an invaluable opportunity to learn about a seasonal custom and to make new friends. KIZUNA is looking forward to your participation.
